Ding Communications Selected For Susan G. Komen Northern Nevada Race For The Cure

August 15, 2007 —To help raise awareness for their eighth annual Northern Nevada Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, occurring Sunday, October 7th, the Northern Nevada Affiliate announced their selection of Ding Communications to design and produce the affiliate’s advertising, newsletter and other marketing materials for their community outreach.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.  Through events like the Komen Race for the Cure, the foundation has invested nearly $1 billion on the road to becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to fighting breast cancer.

“Ding Communications is our choice to support the marketing efforts for the Northern Nevada Race for the Cure,” said Susan G. Hill, Affiliate Communications Chair.  “I am personally familiar with some of Ding’s nonprofit work and know they have the talent to provide the creative perspective we need, as well as a commitment to community-based nonprofit.  Plus the agency’s size lends itself to quickly helping us create a strong local identity.  The principals at Ding Communications are very familiar with the Komen mission and are genuinely excited to be working with us.”

Shelli Fine, principal at Ding Communications, added “During the past eight years, the Komen Northern Nevada Affiliate has been honored to grant more than $1.25 million to local community programs addressing the foundation’s goals.  We’re proud and eager to be given a chance to expand that record of success by generating more awareness for even greater participation and donations.”
